Waves of Hope is always seeking motivated and dedicated individuals to come down and work with us. Our interns are asked to contribute a minimum of twenty-five hours a week to our various projects, which include:

  • Child and youth English classes
  • Kids Club (sports, arts&crafts, surf club, yoga, etc.)
  • Teaching support for our local elementary school
  • Assisting with tutoring program

Interns are also encouraged to design and implement new projects or programs.  Past examples include a community gardening program, entrepreneurial training and a solar oven project.

We are looking for dedicated, hard-working and motivated individuals. An intermediate level of Spanish is required.

A standard internship runs for 3 months and we encourage interns to fully integrate and engage with the community.  During their stay, interns live at a home-stay, interacting daily with their host family and members of the local community.
